Xbox 360 Version of Black Ops Prestige Edition Trouncing PS3 Version in Sales

Earlier this afternoon, a Prestige Edition of Call of Duty: Black Ops was announced for sale and promptly listed for pre-order at various retailers. The Prestige Edition contains everything from the Hardened Edition (medal, co-op maps) along with a remote controlled “Video Surveillance Vehicle” and a 2″ TFT backlit screen to control it. Pretty cool stuff.

It’s been long enough to look at preliminary sales date taken from one retailer, which shows that not only is the Xbox 360 version of Black Ops Prestige Edition beating the PS3 version, but it’s beating it by a large margin.

The Xbox 360 Black Ops Prestige Edition is currently at the top of Amazon’s Movers and Shakers list, and is ranked #20 in Amazon’s overall sales rank. Although the PS3 version of Black Ops Prestige Edition is #2 on the movers and shakers list, in reality, it’s only ranked 72 out of all video game products. That’s 52 places behind the Xbox 360 version of the Prestige Edition of Black Ops.

It’s plain to see that thanks to Xbox Live’s better performance with previous Call of Duty titles, that it has led the Xbox 360 version of Call of Duty: Black Ops Prestige Edition, to be the more sought after version above and beyond the PS3 version.
